Patson Chivizhe


Patson was born on the 17 th March 1961 in Chivhu in the Midlands of Zimbabwe. He is of the Shona tribe.

He obtained his ‘O’ Levels at the Nyatsama Secondary School in Harare after which he completed a three year Arts and Crafts Diploma at the St. Faith Mission College in Mutara where he was taught carpentry and to carve in stone. He now earns a sustainable living carving in stone. He too is inspired by famous artists like Dominic Benhura and Collen Mutasa.

Patson is married with four children. Stewart, his eldest son has followed in his father’s footsteps, his second son works with computers and the younger two are still at school.
