Owen is a real entrepreneur, he lives and works in South African under a visa permit while the rest of his family live in Harare, Zimbabwe. He is the sole bread winner and through the sales of his hand made bead wireworks he is able to send food and money home to feed and maintain his extended family. Owen is responsible for his brother's schooling.

Large wirework orders mean that Owen needs to return to Zimbabwe and get his family involved in helping him complete the orders. His younger brothers are given the painstaking task of threading beads one by one onto thin wire, this is a very time consuming part of the process. Owen creates the framework of the beaded Geckos, Spiders and Ladybirds etc. around which he neatly wraps the beaded wire giving the Geckos body mass.
