Elliot Rumano is a Shona, he was born on 2nd of February 1973 in Murewha some 70km from Harare.

Elliot was born in to a family of sculptors. He started to sculpture at quite a young age, initially assisting his older brother, Nelson Rumano. Later, Nelson taught him how to create abstract sculptures. At the age of 15 he began producing his own style of abstracts. He has attended a number of exhibitions in Zimbabwe.
